Most of the hotels in Maasai Mara are foreign owned Hotels so the class is little bit high. From 2 Star to 5 Star Hotels. You can spend 3 to 7 nights in the Park, it all depends on your budget. From Nairobi by road is around five to. six hours it depends on the type of car you are using, becaause one thing in Kenya is that the roads are bad. For Maasai mara i recommend using a four wheel drive.
Tsavo East /West: Now there is a very famous American movie that was shot in Tsavo, ask yourself why? Tsavo have the best of Kenyan nature view. The soil is completely red and the place looks like a desert. Two totally different scenarios at the same Park. It is just magnificent, although to spot the animals you have to visit the park either very early in the morning or very late in the evening. Alot of the animals hide during the day because of the heat, totally different from Maasai Mara. Several hotels are available in the park from 2 star to 5 Star. The best time you can spot the animals is early morning,they all come out looking for greener pastures! From Nairobi to Tsavo is by Road is around five hours and you can take the train too then alight in Voi.
Lake Nakuru: The park in Lake Nakuru is very huge and the advantage is that during the day it is cool. You can spot the animals very easily. If you are lucky to visit the famous louges in the park, then you dont need to worry about spotting the animals, they sleep just next to those lodges. Little heaven where you can mix with animals in nature. Along. the Lake you can alight from the tour van and see the Lake. The view here is open that is why you can alight from your vehicles. From Nairobi to Nakuru by Road is around two and half to three hours by car.
Samburu Its a little desert located in Northern part of Kenya. Alot of real African Maasai are found here.The Land is special and the native people are very kind. Most of them have never tasted the Haribo Childeren sweets so just buy a pack and try to share with some families around there. The reaction is just funny…what type of rubber is it? The animals you are likely to spot in Samburu are only cows nothing much! So don’t be afraid just do two day tour and interact with the locals.They are so friendly.
