Africa is in danger of open social media. kenyansineurope.com
Now Corona came with consequences and the one that is felt the most is the use of Social Media. Have you ever opened your facebook page of late and see whats happening around. At times you just pray for Heaven to open its doors immediately, for me to escape the jury. It is pathetic and i mean pathetic and especially in Africa now that those platforms are free of charge 24/7. The madness carries on. Some countries like China have shut their social media platforms because they understand the consequences.
But Africa is the only continent that social media platforms are active 24/7 and you can ask yourself if by any chance people go to school or to work during the day!
But again not only does it have negative consequences, there are some positive consequences, i heard of a lady who met her Husband on Social Media! You can not stare at lemons everytime with sour eyes? Think of adding some honey in the lemonade or some sugar then your eyes will remember the sweetness in it.
The Corona season swept alot of young girls out of school, and blame the social media. Alot of girls dropped out of school and some even ran away from home. Talk of social media consequences in Africa and they will give you excuses that out do reasons. Now that we live in a free world where you can spread your wings and fly high like eagles, but just keep in mind up above those eagles have dead end, they can’t fly higher.
The Chinese government locked out all social media platforms from the West. Ask yourself why! That doesn’t mean that China do not have social platforms, infact more than just a number. For Gods sake in Africa we were all bought up strictly with African culture. So why do a grown up man make up funny videos just to sell them on social platforms for the sake of money? Why? Trying to copy the western when life in western world is totally different from the culture and life as a whole in Africa.
And when we talk of such issues facing the young people and everyone, the excuse is that the generation is totally different from the other, where and how? You have parents and am hundred per cent sure your parents come from somewhere in some village, it is unless they were borne in the streets and raised in the streets too then the point points to other direction. Please ask your parents to allow you visit your grandparents at least two times in a year then you will understand the issues.
